Business value
This feature helps finance teams identify budget control tracking corruption before running repair activities. By highlighting budget-controlled documents affected by orphaned tracking records or broken relieving relationships, the diagnostic gives users a clearer starting point for analysis and remediation. Teams can validate the scope of impacted documents, reduce manual investigation, and use existing budget control data maintenance tools more confidently to repair the detected issues.
Feature details
Budget control tracking data can become difficult to analyze when the underlying budget source is missing or when relieving relationships between commitments and relieving documents are broken. These conditions can make it harder for finance users to understand why budget control data does not reconcile as expected and where repair should begin. With this feature, Dynamics 365 Finance adds diagnostic capability to Budget control data maintenance. The diagnostic is designed to detect corrupted budget tracking data patterns before users run repair actions and highlight budget-controlled documents that are affected by orphaned budget tracking records, where the underlying budget source is missing. It also identifies broken relieving relationships between commitments and relieving documents, helping users understand where budget tracking data requires attention. This capability complements source document reprocessing. Finance users can first run the diagnostic to detect corruption and understand the affected documents, then use the existing budget control data maintenance tool to repair the data.
